The new and improved

MMC 10th Annual UkrAsian Dinner & Silent Auction

6 pm Friday, November 9th , 2007, at the

Thorncliffe-Greenview Community Hall, 5600 Centre Street North

was a huge success!

In order to control expenses, maintain prices, and add free parking, we moved from our former downtown venue to Thorncliffe-Greenview Community Association located at 5600 Centre Street North.

We were pleased to have Michelle Coulter Cameron back again as celebrity Master of Ceremonies. Michelle partnered with Carolyn Waldo, winning the Gold Medal in Duet Synchronized Swimming at the 1988 Seoul, Korea Summer Olympics. Michelle now owns and operates Gold Medal Inspirations. We were also very pleased to have Dawn Johnson sing Grace before supper, and the Tryzub Dance Ensemble to entertain us with exciting Ukrainian Dances. Ollie Yacyshyn of Ollie’s Homestyle Catering and caterer for St. Stevens Ukrainian Catholic Church presented an authentic Ukrainian Dinner Buffet with all the trimmings. Each table of eight had two bottles of complimentary wine.

Funds raised will be utilized in the ongoing charitable works of Medical Mercy Canada Society for the unfortunate Western Ukrainian Villagers, Nepal Villagers and Burmese Refugees in Thailand and India. Funds will be used to establish and renovate facilities, to buy much needed medicine, medical instruments, equipment and supplies, and to increase medical and health education training. Donations for the Silent Auction were most appreciated.

Please call Ihor Mazuryk at 239-0969 or email at ihormaz@shaw.ca or Ivan Markiw at 278-7926 or email at markiw2@telusplanet.net with your comments and feedback. Participants enjoyed a great meal, were royally entertained, and heard hear inspiring stories of MMC charitable works; all for a great cause.
