Dr. Donna Taylor (Left)
Dr. Donna Taylor is a retired family physician. She worked in small towns with few or no specialists. Taylor worked in a clinic treating men, women, young and old. She treated patients for a wide range of physical, emotional and psychological problems. She typically treated 30 to 40 patients each day.
Tylor has delivered over one thousand babies. She was also the anesthetist for surgeries and worked shifts in the Emergency Department.
Taylor has gone with MMC to Ukraine eight times. When in Ukraine, she is responsible for explaining Canadian medical supplies and equipment to Ukrainian medical staff. In some cases, she provides her professional medical opinion to Ukrainian doctors.
David Kohut (Right)
David Kohut has worked with Medical Mercy Canada for the last nine years. He travels with MMC to Ukraine, where he is responsible for photographing the mission, evaluating structures, reviewing project financial records and receipts and driving in Ukraine. For the past 20 years, Kohut has been a volunteer coach and president of the Kincardine Kippers swim team. His background is in mechanical engineering where he worked for the Bruce Power Nuclear Station for 22 years.
Kohut has family in Ukraine, and in 2011 he discovered relatives in Balentsi, Ukraine no one in his family knew about.
