Shannon Horne - Fundraising Director
Shannon Horne began with Medical Mercy Canada in June 2016
Shannon first became involved with MMC after returning from a personal trip to Nepal in early 2014. She wanted to continue to be involved in development projects in Nepal and a friend let her know about the work that MMC does.
Prior to joining the Board, she was privileged to join Karen on a recent trip to Nepal where they travelled to the remote village of Daya, one of MMC's project sites. Here, she was able to help work on a solar light maintenance and distribution program and sit in on discussions for a school expansion project in the village. Shannon describes the experience as one of the most special of her life to date.
Shannon values the dedication that every one of MMC's representatives exhibits towards MMC's causes. She says, "It doesn’t take more than a few moments of conversation with any member of the MMC team to realize that their involvement with MMC is a passion project."
Shannon contributes to MMC trhough:
Shannon only just officially started with MMC, and is very excited to get to work on creating a fundraising program that is mutually beneficial to both MMC and its supporters. Her goal is to create and promote fundraising events that foster a connection between the community we live in and the overseas communities we operate in.
