In May 2009, the MMC Ukraine Mission team expanded into a fourth province, Rivneh Oblast in Western Ukraine. This opportunity was made possible by a new member of this year’s team who helped to financially support the work done in this new area. Three new villages were visited and new projects were begun in 2 village medical aid posts.
It is a lovely centre now, housing 24 disabled seniors, in the poorest province in Ukraine.
Most of the difficulties and problems of the people are the same throughout Western Ukraine. However, there are some unique differences from province to province in the people’s dialect, customs, standard of living, architecture, countryside and outlook which make our humanitarian aid work more challenging and interesting.
2009 saw the renovation fully completed in the Geriatric Care Centre, Oblapeh village, Volen Province.
