Fundraiser

​Fundraisers are energetic individuals who love using their positive attitudes to build relationships with donors. This position will be responsible for managing fundraisers and special events from concept to completion.

Description
The Fundraisers will assist with fundraising activities, donor stewardship, and event planning activities. These volunteers will directly contribute to Medical Mercy Canada’s impact on impoverished countries by increasing organizational funds and resources. These volunteers will report directly to the Fundraising Director and will also work closely other Fun Raisers.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Fundraisers will be responsible for:
  • Leading the planning and management of events
  • Contacting donors and sponsors for silent auction items and donations
  • Coordinate fundraising of institutional and special donor events
  • Liaise with the Communications team on the development of media, marketing
    materials, announcements, photo opportunities, and speech writing
  • Assists in developing new events, as well as maintaining, organizing, and
    managing existing MMC fundraisers and special events from concept to completion, ensuring they operate smoothly, efficiently, and generate maximum revenue and exposure
  • Managing a fundraising budget

​Recommended Qualifications
  • Event planning and/or fundraising experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships with new people and organizations
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with a creative mind
  • Works well independently and as a part of the team
  • Able to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience working with executives, donors, and volunteers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • High energy levels, flexible, and possess a pleasant persona

​This position requires a time commitment of assisting with at least one event per three month period. To be successful in this position, a volunteer must express a genuine interest in MMC’s mission and vision, along with a passion to change lives.
