Karen Cuthbertson
Karen began with Medical Mercy Canada in 2012, when she went on her first Health Camp in Nepal. In 2013, she joined the board.
Karen had been doing humanitarian projects in Nepal since 2010, in 2011 she met Joanne Neweduk, our past president, and she encouraged her to join MMC and bring their projects together.
Karen values the long term relations MMC builds with the local communities we work with. There is a level of trust and understanding created which allows us to assist in ways the communities truly need.
Karen contributes to MMC through:
Her greatest accomplishment is the people she has been able to connect, both overseas and in Canada. Karen says, "We have a strong group of dedicated volunteers overseas and support team in Canada. I am especially proud of our new intern and student programs which are bring in fresh ideas and a new generation of compassionate people."

Karen contributes to MMC through:
- Her ability to organize, yet go with changes as needed and stay calm helps the team (nothing ever goes exactly as planned when working in the field).
- She brings an understanding of both field work and business to the team, helping everyone understand the delicate balance of our work. We need to raise money and be accountable as a business but those we are helping always need to be forefront.
